The Immigration system is a system that allows non-residential citizens to immigrate (partly or wholly) to another country.The immigration is granted on deciding factors like whether the non-residing citizen is able to gain above a threshold number of points in a system based on various factors like education, wealth, language fluency, job, etc.

The US merit-based immigration system is likely to consider many factors for immigration purpose like no criminal records or any involvement with any terrorist organization.

The US is proposing a bill called “Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment Act or the RAISE Act.” This will state that anyone scoring below 30 points doesn’t qualify for the American green card or their immigration system. This acts aim is to limit the number of visas issued each year.

According to the RAISE Act, all those applying for merit-based immigration will need to meet a certain eligibility criterion which is as follows: –

Preference will be given to those between 26-30 years.

Points will be given on the basis of language tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

  • ExtraordinaryAchievements

Achievements such as winning a noble prize or Olympic medal.

  • Job Offer

A person who already has a US job offer in hand.

  • Investing in the US Economy

A person who is starting a new business or any enterprise in the US will contribute towards there economy.

All those who get the immigration visa through this US merit-based immigration system will have a US green card, and they will be free to move to the US on the permanent basis and live in any state of the country they wish to.
